24th October 2017 : Mud, mud, glorious mud …

It’s that time of year again when not only are you allowed to run through puddles but it is positively encouraged – yes I’m talking about Cross Country.

The first event was hosted by Wellingborough & District AC and covered a distance of just over 5 miles.

Storm Brian did his best to help out and make sure there was plenty of the soggy mud to add to the fun. The course included crossing a ‘river’ (ok a stream) twice and there were many different techniques on show for this particular obstacle – from attempts to jump over it to full on jumping in with both feet.

Seventeen intrepid DRR turned out for the team including some XC first timers and a fantastic time was had by all!

The Men’s team came in 11th place, with the women in 8th – giving an overall position of 10th.

If you fancy having a go then the next one is on 12th November and will be hosted by Wootton Road Runners.
