Dunstable Road Runners are a small and friendly running club, catering for competitive and
social runners of all abilities and ages (15 and over).

Originally formed in 1983 with just a handful of members, our membership has grown steadily to well over 130 today.
We are naturally going to be a tiny bit biased here, but we do pride ourselves on being a
very welcoming and friendly club, with a great involvement from our membership.

Dunstable Road Runners Organised Races

We organise 2 events each year:

The Dunstable Road Runners 5 Mile race which is the AAA Bedfordshire County
Championship 5 Mile race. Each year club members choose a charity and our 5 Mile race
raises funds for this charity. click here

The Dunstable Road Runners Challenge Trail event, always very popular. click here

Our Challenge event helps to subsidise the cost of membership, purchase any required
equipment, cover costs for members to attend cross country & relay races & support
coaching costs.

We are also part of the Three Counties Cross Country league and host a XC event as required
along with other league clubs.

We are always overwhelmed by the support of our club members and positive feedback
from those taking part at our events.

Club Runs
Our main club run is on Wednesdays which starts & finishes at our Club Headquarters:
Creasey Park Community Centre in Dunstable.

We also have a Monday morning social run offering different routes.

Speed & Sprints improver sessions every other Monday evening, winter & summer venues.
Hill training every other Tuesday evening, again winter & summer venues.

We get together at parkrun on Saturday mornings & social runs some Sundays.

We use an events app which displays all runs/training where members can see what’s going
on & add their attendance.

Coaching & Leaders

We have qualified England Athletics Run Leaders/Coaches. We also have members who are
currently in training to achieve their qualification. We encourage and support any member
who wishes to hold this qualification, any fees are covered by the Club.

On all runs, our group leaders ensure that no one is left behind or left to run on their own.
Help and advice is always available from our coaching team and support & encouragement
from our members is never in short supply.

The most important thing for us is putting on those running shoes, getting out there and
enjoying it, our members come together each week to catch up, support each other &
welcome new faces. New members are very welcome and are assigned to a buddy who will
welcome them and ensure they aren’t alone during the first few weeks; it doesn’t take long
to gel with us and find your happy place.

If you are interested in joining then take a look at some of the questions we are often asked
by new members. We look forward to welcoming you.
