We’ve waited and waited for the return of this fantastic event and for the first time since 2019 it was back on! The Dunstable Downs Challenge lives up to it’s name as it is both self navigated and definitely not flat. However it more than makes up for that in its stunning route and friendly organisation.
Numbers were a little lower than previous, possibly a combination of a congested race calendar and having been off the radar for a couple of years (due to COVID) but 134 people still turned out for what we hope was a rewarding day.
Representatives from no fewer than 36 clubs were on the start line, with some having travelled a distance to take part. I was lucky enough to cheer, feed and water 47 of those at the final marathon checkpoint (sorry we had to send you up a slope after leaving us!).
I hope to put up a fuller post later in the week but for now I know you are all really just here for the results! They are on the Challenge website here
