If I had £1 for every time I heard this today I would be writing this from the Bahamas!
39 intrepid (and slightly bonkers) souls made their way to St.Albans for one of the first races of the year. This made DRR one of the biggest groups there – showing what a fab family we are.
It’s always a risk when you enter a race taking place in January that the weather might not be great but I think this morning’s snow was still a bit of a shock.
Thankfully Race HQ was nice and warm. It was all very well organised for number collection and plenty of loos are all ticks in the box for anyone considering this race.
The walk to the race start was cold and a bit further than I would have liked but we set off pretty promptly.
The course is definitely undulating and I’m sure if we could have seen through the white stuff, very pretty. What was fantastic was the support of the marshals who must have been freezing out their but they never let it show and cheered all of us on.
It’s a race that sells out so if you want to be part of the crazy crew next January then do keep an eye out for when places go on sale.
